Students today are growing up in a world that is constantly bombarding them with stimuli, resulting in it being difficult for students to focus. This is especially difficult in a classroom when they are expected to sit in uncomfortable chairs or desk/chair combos.
Flexible seating promotes responsibility and increases focus while improving behavior management. Students are given a choice in where they sit and with whom they would like to work with. When students get that choice, they are more invested in their learning. It also provides a more realistic model to what they will experience as they continue their education in high school, college, and eventually the work place.
