Most of my students have very low self-esteem. Having regular school supplies like paper, pencils and pens will have a big impact on how they feel about themselves. The students know that they can come to me, and I will have what they need when they need it. Having the supplies on hand when they need them will help the students stay on track with the lesson being presented. This does have an impact on their grades. Little things like having a pencil ready to go and start the lesson with everyone else can make a world of difference. The students just need a little encouragement with a lot of love to help them with the school year
