Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make choices that work best for them. During independent work times, students have the flexibility to choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently, my students are able to work at different tables or by sitting or laying on the floor with a clipboard. When students are comfortable and are given choice, I have noticed amazing differences in their ability to focus. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. Their ability to move while working allows them to burn of energy throughout the day.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The wobble stools can be used to sit at a desk or table while allowing some movement. These will be extremely beneficial for some students who just need to get the wiggles out. The wobble cushions can be used on the floor or in a chair. They are another effective tool for releasing energy in a positive way. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom. The lap desks and surf desks will provide additional seating that can be comfortably used throughout the room.
I have seen how choice, movement, and flexibility can positively affect my students' work, behavior, and demeanor. I hope that these additional options will help my students to be their very best every day!
