My students have the opportunity to play in the school's band or orchestra, but some of my students are unable to participate because of financial reasons. I want to have ukuleles in my classroom because these students still crave having an instrument in their hand. Music is a lifelong skill and ukulele, in particular, is a very accessible instrument to create a love for music. Ukuleles are small enough for students' fingers, are easy to tune, and students have instant success when they learn the "C" chord! I cannot wait to connect with my students while we strum their favorite songs.
