Our world can often seem inflexible and limited. My goal is to create a classroom environment where my students can escape from the outside world. One way for them to do that, is to create a place where they have ownership of their classroom and their learning. I can create this sense of ownership by providing my students with an opportunity to explore various sensory tools.
This exploration leads to a better understanding of their needs, both physically and emotionally. Once students are able to demonstrate metacognition, their interest and engagement in school will increase dramatically.
These flexible seating options will help my students focus during lessons. They will be able to move and stay engaged.
