Lately, I have had a recurring dream about my classroom.
Student desks have been replaced with tables and chairs that give my room a Kona Coffee/surfer/coffeeshop theme.
As teachers, we grow and change with the new developments and research in education. Our goal is always to put our students first and provide for them the best educational experience possible. One of the ways we can do this is to provide a welcoming and comfortable classroom. Gone are the days of uncomfortable desks and chairs. Teachers are now creating classrooms that look like living rooms and coffee shops. Research has shown this type of environment helps inspire creativity and learning.
My current classroom theme is Hawaii and I use mostly turquoise with other ocean blues/greens. I am seeking donations for items such as lamps, TV trays, tables, chairs, sitting cushions or anything else that might fit my theme. Items need to be relatively light yet sturdy, kid friendly but adult-sized, easy to clean and easy to move around. I would be eternally grateful for any help.
Please help to make my dream classroom a reality.
