As we go through our curriculum students will be able to use a consistent and working calculator. They like to use their phone but it does not have the same functionality as a scientific calculator.
They can come to class feeling confident they know how to compute the equations given to them with the appropriate tools. Students come to school with necessary supplies to be successful but not all can afford a working calculator. Most of the calculators we are using stop working or the numbers are all gone.
Once they are all using the same calculator for classroom assignments they will also feel more confident with standardized testing. They will know they have the appropriate tools to be successful.
