Imagine a classroom full of students moving around the room, interacting with one another, and collaborating with their peers. Students are creating projects through STEM while sitting on ottomans, students are comparing fractions with fraction bars while wobbling on stools to focus, and students are actively engaged and listening to their teacher demonstrating a math process while bouncing on balance balls. All students are engaged, and all students are working together learning. THIS is flexible seating, and this is how I plan to help make a difference in my students' learning, this year, in my classroom.
Because I implement Guided Math rotations and STEM in my classroom, students will have freedom of choice to sit where they best learn in my classroom with the addition of these flexible seating options. Students will be able to stay active in their learning and focus on the tasks at hand. They will also be able to have an inviting classroom to relax and make themselves comfortable in. These items will be used every single day, and I believe they will promote success in my classroom!
