Independent reading is vital for academic success. The more a student reads, the more they grow in their academic skills. Engaging today's teens in independent reading requires new, relevant reading materials easily accessed.
Having a classroom library and a cozy reading spot will mean the world to avid readers and may help a reluctant reader fall in love with reading.
If a student hates reading, they likely haven't yet found the book that speaks to them. The wide selection of books I have chosen that will be added to my small collection will allow for me to provide books for many different interests.
