We are requesting a carpet, open shelves, storage bins and stacking stools. My students deserve a classroom that is warm and inviting. Currently there are only desks in the classroom. We are in great need of shelves to house our books and cozy spots in which to read those books. I like to cultivate a classroom culture of community and kindness and one way is our daily morning meeting. A classroom rug that we can all fit on would help tremendously with this. Hopefully by having a cozy classroom the students will want to come and learn and realize that learning can be fun. Making sure that students are comfortable is a great motivational tool in their learning.
