My students will read the books about historical events and people which non-fiction stories are used on the state testing and this eill give them practice reading non-fiction. Students have options of different stories about people, events, and survival while enjoying reading a book. These books are short and will not overwhelm students when they choose one of the books to read. The stories are interesting and relevant to our history. For students with learning disabilities finding books of interest, low level, and short work best for my students. Students in the past have found the biographies of people they have heard about and look up to in positive ways.
