Third grade is a time and space for exploratory interaction — especially for my imaginative and interactive pandas. Having iPads will transform our ordinary learning activities into extraordinary project-based learning experiences. Imagine the acceleration, depth, and heightened levels of educational engagement we can foster in our students by using Nearpod to impart nuggets of wisdom about social emotional skills and self-regulation strategies; by using iMovie to record and edit our role-playing videos about how the legislative, judiciary and executive branches work; or by using Chatterpix to practice retelling stories about how Ruby Bridges integrated into an all white, segregated, elementary school. Our students need the space to engage in content creation in a way that fortifies their critical thinking abilities, makes space for them to express their ideas, and strengthens their abilities to work individually and collaboratively.
I am very proud of my third grade pandas’ commitment to excellence. It is my hope that they will continue to be inspired to excel — and it is my duty to ensure that they have access to quality materials that will support their diverse learning styles and interests. Having iPads in our classroom will increase our overall classroom efficacy by providing additional support for our classroom climate and by adding spice to our ELA, Reading, Social Science and Social Justice instructional activities.
Our classroom family hopes that you will support us so that we can support the world. Help us continue to ignite a spark of excellence in our classroom so that we may ignite a spark of excellence into our world.
