The use of the highlighters is almost a daily activity. Students will use them to highlight specific quotes for document based learning, close reading activities, and notes. This allows my student to focus on specific concepts needed to learn the concepts as they relate to the lessons. The pen and pencils will be available for students that may not have writing utensils upon coming to class. The colored pencils, pens, pencils, sharpies, paper, scissors, and glue are for projects, activities, and presentations that my students will engage in class to draw charts and maps and graphic organizers to assist them in learning the content in a way that promotes cooperative learning with their peers that is creative and engaging. The storage organizer will give students a place to store their materials and help them to develop organization skills needed beyond the classroom. Additional supplies such as Kleenex, Clorox disinfecting wipes, and first aid kit are to ensure the classroom is clean and disinfected to provide a learning environment free from germs and to prevent illnesses so that my students do not get sick and miss school. Students need to be at school to learn and keeping a clean, disinfected classroom is important.
