Everyone has a purpose and deserves the opportunity to experience success. The amazing thing about this is that it comes in all forms, dependent on the individual's strengths. The surprise of a greeting card, especially among the junk mail and bills, can bring unexpected happiness to someone's day. Greeting cards help others to know that someone cares enough to take the time to send a thoughtful message. A greeting card expresses all the human emotions, joy, thanks, sympathy, humor, love and admiration. It allows us to connect on an emotional level with the people who have touched our lives. Sending personalized greeting cards allows us a vast variety of sentiments that allow us to express our caring to family, friends, customers, clients and employees. Sharing this love through a card is so powerful and it is more powerful to know the stories behind the people who made these cards, people with disabilities. I can guarantee that the people making these cards will do so with love and pride, knowing that their cards will be chosen over the cards sold in local stores. My students will share their gifts with the community around them. I cannot think of a better way to build an awareness! My students will sell the cards that are hand-made by them. The money collected from the cards will be used to support ongoing real-life experiences and field trips.
