Each of these books will help me to prepare students for college and life beyond high school. My senior English class focuses on themes of struggle, change, and existentialism to help my students think productively about where they're headed and how they'll get there. My classroom focuses on independent thinking, personal responsibility, and open-mindedness. My chosen texts are common titles in early-level college courses, and I'd like my students to leave my care as prepared as they can possibly be. Students will use these texts as the basis for a number of essays and other writing projects throughout the year.
