What can I say? My students make me laugh, make me frustrated, break my heart and mend my heartache. They are wonderful! I love the, "Good morning Mrs. Aycock", that I get. I love the high fives and the special handshakes that have to be unique to that child (they can come up with some dooseys). Teaching middle school science is truly a joy that I get to take part in everyday. They love to learn but get embarrassed and shut down easily if they dont have the supplies I tell them they need. Most years I have just bought the supplies myself and try to recycle everything I can, but this year my supplies are all either consumed, broken or just wore out. They deserve the best I can give them. Many of their parents work 2 and 3 jobs or perhaps they are living with grandparents or in some cases with just older siblings. Lack of supplies should never be a reason that a child can't be successful.
