My students are fascinated by science, but up to this point have mostly experienced science through textbooks and videos. These scientific tools will help my students access the world of science through hands-on experiences. They will have the opportunity to practice making observations by using microscopes and telescopes, a balance and thermometer. This equipment will help my students access different branches of science, ask questions and discover answers for themselves.
Having access to scientific tools will allow my students to be engaged in meaningful and relevant scientific experiences. The microscopes will be used to observe plant and animal cells, and to compare a variety of crystals. The telescopes will be used to enhance their understanding of Earth's place in the universe, constellations, and make observations in the night sky. The thermometer and balance will be used to determine chemical changes.
By donating to this project you will be helping to enrich the experiences of these young scientists!
