The graphic novels purchased in this project will allow me to provide motivating reading material to my all of my 6th-grade students. The books will be added to our classroom library and will be used during our reading and writing workshops in addition to independent choice reading time. All of my students love to read graphic novels. By offering more of them in my classroom, I hope to increase the volume of reading especially from my least motivated readers. My struggling readers will fall in love with reading upon meeting these graphic novels. Additionally, we will be able to create our own graphic novels by using these books as mentor texts as we try out this new style of writing.
