I am creating calm down kits for all K-5th grade classrooms that will enable teachers to provide resources for students who need to regulate emotions in the classroom.
Each kit will come with tools like balls, magnetic clay, and fidgets for calming and coping with emotions, as well as some visual supports to encourage understanding of emotions. Students will use the balls and fidgets to help them concentrate in the classrooms. Teaching students to calm themselves when they are upset is a valuable coping skill. My goal is to increase social-emotional development by providing tools for students to self-regulate their emotions and by teaching students and teachers how and when to use each kit.
About my class
