During a typical school year you'll walk into my classroom to see students sitting EVERYWHERE (using the window sill as their desk, on their bellies all over the floor, in a cohort with their classmates, little "forts" by the book case, you get the picture!) It looks like pure chaos (okay, let's be honest sometimes it IS pure chaos) but for my energetic third graders, having the choice to sit WHEREVER, as long as they get their jobs done, works for them! They love having the option to sit all over the room and I love seeing them engaged in their tasks.
This school year, as we try our hardest to keep our kiddos safe and healthy, they don't have options to move around our classroom as they please. They are required to stay in their assigned spot to allow proper cleaning to take place and limit the possibility of exposure. Please help me give them flexible seating options that will keep them healthy but also engaged!
