As a first-year teacher, I am eager to develop a safe, constructive, and productive learning environment for my fourth graders. Having just graduated from college, I have performed extensive research on the kind of teacher I want to be, and the kind of classroom I want to create for my students.
I know that I want to provide my students with the best environment to learn as scholars, and grow as individuals. However, students learning in public schools (specifically Atlanta Public Schools) often perform at varying grade levels. Therefore, within my fourth grade class, I could have students performing academically from a first grade to a sixth grade (or beyond) level. Given this need for differentiated work, centers and stations are crucial for promising students individualized and customized activities and lessons. Wobble Chairs are the perfect source of seating for these small group sessions. Their portability and comfort are essential to my students' learning.
As a first-year teacher, I will promise my students that I will recognize each and every of their individual learning needs and styles. These Wobble Chairs will help tremendously in accommodating small group learning as well as provide students with alternative seating for when the old plastic traditional chairs are hindering learning.
