The supplies I will purchase will be hands-on items like art supplies, food preparation supplies for simple meals and manipulatives for math, science and reading lessons.
As a 10th year teacher, I do a lot of teacher modeling and having my students learn independence as they will not always have someone around to assist them. Independence is key. My students will use everything from kinetic sand to use their imagination to build things, different types of measuring cups/spoons to cook and using different art supplies to use as both manipulatives and for art projects they can be proud of. These are just a very few examples but because my students are visual/ hands-on learners these supplies are used constantly, so the need for supplies is extremely important.
