The materials and supplies that I am requesting for the children already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. I'm excited to start a more natural play based, loose parts classroom to engage the children. The PicassoTiles, safety vests, tool boxes, tape measures will be placed in building area along with the wood slices, graphing paper, and a few clipboards for some STEAM exploration. The oil pastels, marker dots, and glue will be added to the art area. The pretend food and pots and pans will be added to the dramatic play area on a rotation basis. The geo boards and links will be added to our Morning Tub rotation. The clipboards and sketch paper will be added throughout the room to encourage writing.
The donations to this project will help to give the children in my room a play based intentional learning environment.
By implementing a play based, loose parts classroom the children will be able to learn in a safe risk taking space that feels welcoming for three year olds. We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long learners. As the teacher, I have done extensive research and reading on play based, loose parts teaching for early childhood education and am very excited to put it into practce. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
