My project will give students the opportunity to choose the spot that works best for them during independent work times. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
Current research supports the use of flexible seating in the classroom because it allows for student choice, provides needed sensory input, and is more comfortable.
This will be my first year as a first grade teacher. Creating a classroom that best meets my student's unique needs is not cheap! Any donation is greatly appreciated. I am beyond excited to make a difference in my students' lives!
