My students work best when they can move freely around to the room to work in groups. Middle school students are highly social and work best when they can collaborate. We currently have desks with chairs attached. It makes it hard for students to move freely and work together. These desks are not for all body types and are just uncomfortable. Students work best when they are comfortable. This seating will allow students to be comfortable while working in spaces that fit all students. The students will be able to work around tables to have hands-on experiments and projects that not only teach content, but also soft skills that are so important.
