High school seniors are at a unique place in their educational journey. They are growing tired of the routines of high school and on the verge of embarking into the adult world. I'd like to offer my classes a high-interest approach to viewing the world with new books. My hope is to offer them unique, diverse perspectives through memoirs. In class we will have rich discussions about the struggles and achievements of these memorable individuals, with a focus on how our understanding of the struggles of others can help us build empathy. A trait our country is currently lacking, and one the next generation will need.
