There is a misconception that arts and crafts should only be used in the primary grades. Students of any age enjoy going beyond ‘paper and pencil’ and using their creativity to learn! And what parent wouldn’t love to receive their students’ artwork? We will use these supplies to enhance our learning and give students choices in their education. For example, we could paint a picture of the setting in a story. We could make puppets of the characters. We could use pipe cleaners to make shapes, pom poms or googly eyes to make math arrays. Art is a wonderful way to learn!
