All of my students aspire to become future educators. As part of the Education Academy, we attend professional conferences across the state, visit college campus, collaborate with neighborhood schools, and participate in multiple community service events. These types of engagements require a certain level of professional dress that my high school students may not have the resources to obtain. Coming from a 90% free and reduced lunch school, our families may not have the proper funds to purchase professional attire. Often times, when discussing upcoming events, my students are concerned about whether the clothes they own will be appropriate for the event. Frequently, I will receive pictures from students asking if their outfit is suitable for what we are attending.
With matching polos, my students will be able to feel comfortable and confident in their professional look. They will no longer have to be concerned about finding professional attire.
I have arranged with a local business partner to embroider our Education Academy logo on the front of a polo. The cost of embroidery will be funded by the local business. Now, our students will look like a collective group who is ready to change the world.
