Our classroom is comprised of students who have not yet learned to read independently. Before learning this skill, one important strategy to practice is listening to books. By having multiple headphones and a CD/cassette player, and being able to utilize our library of CD and cassette tape books, our young readers will be able to practice emergent reading skills and begin to learn the importance of following along with the story using pictures.
Please help us learn to read! In a classroom with such diversity in age (2-4 years old) these children have varying interests. With this addition to our listening center, students will be able to choose the books they are interested in while fostering a love for reading.
