On Friday afternoons our team of three- 4th-grade classrooms are going to set aside time to teach a new skill such as sewing, or games without screens. The sewing materials will be used to teach kids how to hand stitch. Each student will start with making a pillow to take home, then have options of several other sewing projects.
Three classrooms of students will have the option of sewing, playing games while socializing without technology. Students decide which classroom space to hang out in which gives students the chance to mingle with friends and practice socializing face to face without screens.
