This project has games that will get my students excited about reading. Reading can be a little tough in 1st grade, but these games will help build phonics skills. Phonemic awareness and phonics skills are the building blocks of becoming a fluent reader. Over my years of teaching, I have come to realize that children enjoy learning when they are having fun. All of the games are fun, learning devices. My students will think they are playing a game, but instead, they are learning to read. My goal is that all of my students become fluent readers in 1st grade.
