In my classroom, we make reading fun! We have themed reading days such as Flashlight Fridays where we turn off all the lights and read by mini flashlights. Students are encouraged to choose from a wide variety of books, to get lost in them, and find comfort in their characters. Since I moved from an upper grade to third grade, many of my books are too difficult. Many students get frustrated and disheartened when they spend too much time decoding new words instead of enjoying the story and truly comprehending what they have read. Please help me rebuild a library that will support my students in their quest to become lifelong readers!
