I want my students to find a love for reading and to know that they matter. Having students see themselves represented in our classroom library will help them see they matter. It will make a positive classroom community and help foster a love for reading. I will also use the books to teach standards and help with our social emotional learning. The books will help lead to discussion with our classmates about their story and the their story is an important part of who they are. The books will help teach standards by using them as mentor texts. These books will have so much value in our classroom!
