In a special education setting, flexible seating will provide my students with the ability to focus on the task in front of them. Many of my students have challenges sitting for longer than 5-10 minutes and they are also below grade level in reading and math.
My students require accommodations that allow them to be mobile while working on learning not only how to read, but lifelong skills. Currently, my students choose between standing or sitting however, this does not always create an optimal learning environment for them or their peers.
When my students are able to focus, they are engaged and cooperative in their learning. They believe in themselves and see all the possibilities!
