Hands-on experiences are important to students. Hands-on experiences that teach students about renewable energy resources are valuable for our nation's future. In Oklahoma, we see giant windmills in our Arbuckle Hills and feel the wind every day... "Oklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plain!"
There is no better place to learn about windmills and harnessing wind power than in Oklahoma.
Windmill STEM labs in my classroom will give students hands-on experiences to learn about airflow and how to utilize natural resources. Students will use the engineering design process to plan, build, test and redesign windmills in the classroom. We will learn about the history of windmills and the future of wind power.
By offering students STEM labs in my classroom, I am developing thinking skills that will grow and develop into lifelong learning skills.
