We use an instructional model in our literacy lessons, which includes daily reading to self, word work, writing reading with a partner, and listening to reading. Our content-area curricula comes with audible text, links to resources to expand learning experiences, and opportunities to write in response to text prompts. Science, social studies, health, social-emotional learning, and even physical education instruction have audible components. Headphones provide us with important access to a world of learning. 1:1 access will allow students to view quality instructional materials, write (our language curriculum has an animated writing tutor!), and complete daily independent and collaborative work.
