These supplies will make a difference in the lives of my students because they will be used by all my students, all year long, to complete many different lessons essential to their 1st grade learning goals. Many items that are listed will make up the backbone of our classroom, such as the supply bins for math and reading centers (which will be used everyday) and headphones for my students to utilize the benefits of technology that is available to them. 1st graders need crayons, glue, and scissors because they are discovering creativity and will use this when they complete visual projects and assignments.
Most of my students live in poverty, foster care, or are homeless, so they are unable to bring their own supplies to school, which means I must supply them with everything they need....and they deserve the world! Anything will make a difference for these children, and they are so appreciative of everything they can use.
