Our science classroom is bare! Before this year, science was taught strictly out of a book, and we --literally-- have no resources for hands-on learning. These requested materials will give us some much needed equipment for hands-on inquiry in earth science (rocks, minerals, soil, and the water cycle) and physical science (motion and atomic theory).
Using these materials, students will be able to study minerals and rocks, and conduct investigations into their characteristics. Students will be able to test various soil samples from across the region to compare and contrast quality. We will be able to model the water cycle in small groups and understand evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. Finally, students will be able to model atoms which will allow them to construct understanding of a difficult concept.
My students learn better and are so excited when they're able to get "hands-on"! Thank you for helping us :)
