The first rug will be a great place to come together for group learning. Every morning, we start our day at this carpet, doing morning meeting. The line around the perimeter of the carpet makes it easy and efficient for students to get in a circle. During morning meeting each student is greeted by name and gets the chance to greet another student. We share stories and talk about what we will do during the day. At the carpet, we will have calendar and other group lessons throughout the day.
Making the classroom feel like home allows my students to feel comfortable and focus on learning. The second carpet I selected will be for my classroom library area. The warm tons and wood style will make the library area feel cozy and inviting.
