My students arrive in less than two weeks and I have NO classroom library. I will be getting books that are part of our English language arts curriculum (sets for small group instruction, teacher read alouds, etc), but my students need to fall in love with reading by choosing their own books for independent reading everyday! This project will make sure my students have quality books and lots of choice. Reading development at second grade is critical. They are not only learning to read, but loving to read. I want a library that lets the students learn how to explore lots of genres and topics and expand their horizons about reading and the world.

About my class
