Students will have an opportunity to do STEM projects to build drones and work together in teams. In the 鈥淟et鈥檚 Build A Drone鈥 enrichment mini-course, students will use parts listed below to build custom drones. For each drone, these parts will include a 6X15mm motor with JST, a 3.7V 220mAh LiPo battery with ultra micro for blade inductrix, a set of FPV propeller red/blue CW CCW, an E-flite 1SUSB Li-Po charger 300mA, a Blade 4CH Remote transmitter to operate, and a Blade 3-in-1 Inductrix Control Unit (not included on the part list).
These are 21st century skills that are also helping these students prepare for jobs that have not been created yet. They will use critical thinking skills while learning how to build and design a workable drone. These real world skills will help them to see the benefits of learning technology and applying to real-world applications.
Drones are currently used by the military, delivery services, scientific investigations, security, and firefighting just to name a few. Students will also be able to compare the drones to 3D models and look at the pros and cons of designs.
