My students would benefit from a class subscription of Scholastic News (4th grade edition) and Scholastic Science Spin (Gr. 3-6). Both of these magazines would provide many real-world learning experiences through reading. Scholastic News connects current events to the fourth grade curriculum while helping students enhance their reading strategies. The Science Spin magazine will teach my students about real-world science and help them explore the latest science news. I want to provide as many resources as possible for my students. We will use these magazines to spark discussion and provide reading and writing reflection opportunities. My students will be able to keep the magazines and reference them long after the school year is over.
