Some students at our school that struggle with academics seem to have one outlet that improves their self-esteem and helps them to continue to cope and work hard in the classroom. For many of our students basketball is this outlet. The socioeconomic status of many of our families limits the quality of sports equipment they can purchase.
By purchasing these quality basketballs some of our aspiring student/athletes will be able to utilize and maybe awarded a quality ball of their own. This will make a world of difference in promoting their interest in athletics and coping with the stress and pressures of adolescence. The backpacks will be of high quality and will last students well into their future. Many of our students only have drawstring bags at this time and they will only last a couple of months into the school year.
