I love to read aloud to my students. They often sit on a cold, tiled floor. A rug would be more inviting and comfortable. They could also do some buddy projects as well.
We often do read alouds, buddy reads, small group book clubs, and centers where small groups of students work together. Sitting on a carpet with one another will be an alternative space for them to work.
I love seeing my students looking relaxed yet engrossed in a great book like " Number the Stars" or "Charlotte's Web." This would warm up my classroom.
My students will often ask for a place to work with each other besides their desk. Having this carpet/rug would be a good place for them as a whole group or with a friend.
