My kiddos will be learning the skills all children need to engage and connect positively with teachers, peers and their wider community while expressing their need for power, attention and support.
Using social justice initiatives, social emotional language and supports, pragmatic language and art my students will create journals of art where sketch notes and self expression reign as tools for learning.
The sketch pads, chairs and art supplies will give the students a nontraditional way to create life long skills of positive affirmations, tools and strategies to combat anxiety, learned helplessness, inattention, and trauma. It will provide them with their words to stand strong and engage in their education.
