This project will begin a class set of ukuleles for general music students to use in class.
Giving students the opportunity to learn ukulele will allow them to perform, create, and respond to music in a different, engaging way.
As they learn to play ukulele, students will learn about harmony, melody, note reading, and musical form. They will use the ukuleles as a tool to study new pieces of music, to compose original music, and to sing/play individually and as a group. Playing ukulele will provide a new musical experience to students and will hopefully allow them to feel successful and motivated.
