Classroom materials will greatly benefit my students because they are 100% necessary for any successful classroom! Poster papers are vital to charting out our daily schedule and learning objectives, and clipboards will be used for observations during outdoors science experiments.
My students will greatly benefit from this project because the books supplied by this project will create a learning environment that connects with the children's cultures, home countries, and native languages - finally! All of the books chosen will be used during our Interactive Read Alouds during the English Language Arts portion of the day, in which we will dissect them for meaning, connections, and literary skills.
Several supplies will be used in our classroom "Peace Corner." The Peace Corner is a powerful and touching space in the classroom that supports self-regulation. Providing this space for our students' social-emotional needs is not an exceptional resource for students, but rather a classroom expectation of the 21st Century.
Lastly, as you can see in the photo, my classroom as a first-year teacher was given to me almost completely empty! Many basic materials are needed in order to achieve success as a first-year teacher, in a newly implemented Spanish Pathway position, in an unfurnished room. Additionally, a good quality teacher chair is necessary due to a knee-related medical condition.
