Many students need alternative seating, not just a standard desk. This rug will give them a clearly identifiable area that is safe and comfortable to learn on. We will also read a lot of books together on this rug. The rug they currently sit on is from the trash pile. They deserve a nice, clean, happy rug to sit on. They will hear stories on this rug, make art, make friends and grow from kindergarten to 5th graders on this rug. The coolest part of being a specialist teacher is having them from kindergarten to 5th grade. They should enjoy their time in my room and see it as a safe place.
