My 7th and 8th grade students need calculators to solve problems and defend their solutions.
Calculators are as important a tool as the pencil they will write with!
Students will use calculators daily to help with complex thinking and problem solving. Each student will apply strategies and create solutions to a variety of real life scenarios illustrating algebraic thinking and out-of-the-box strategy.
Any student who can’t afford a calculator, or who accidentally forgets theirs at home, will not be left behind when this class set reaches my classroom. Instead they will be able to check one out for the day!
