I hope that through filming themselves, their peers and the world around them, it will bring concepts we are studying in class to life. In addition, students will not only have an opportunity to practice their public speaking skills, but they will have the unique ability to reflect on how they present themselves. In addition, their projects will require a great deal of collaboration with their classmates and they will learn basic film editing skills using the iPad. I am most looking forward to the oral histories they will be filming from family and local community members. One of the biggest treasures in my life is an audio recording I have of my late, great grandmother when she provided her oral history to a local historical society. I hope that these videos among others will be treasured for a long time to come.
